MARKETING: Customer Interview No. 7

1)         Provide (embed) the video or audio recording of your interview with the customer. As an alternative, you can provide the transcript of your interview but it will take you a lot of time. Thus, I would strongly recommend to go with the video or audio recording. Posts without evidence of the conducted interview won't be accepted.
See Below
2)         Describe the most interesting and useful insights about your customers that you learned through this interview.
I was surprised that the media buyer had not encountered this problem more frequently.

3)         Describe if there is anything you learned about interviewing process. How did you feel during the interview? Was it easy or not? Do you feel like you need to adjust any of your questions or your overall approach?

I thought this was a good interview. This was not an easy interview as I was not allowed to record it, so I had to take notes, but the material was worth the extra effort. I did not have to adjust any of the questions for this interview.

Customer Interview number 7 media buyer – Ginger

1   What is the hardest part about getting your services in the faces of the affluent minorities in North Central Florida?
The are a few channels that I can use, but I really don’t have a channel that I have great confidence in. I have a charge to be fair in the use of my advertising budget with some business. Actually some business customers have asked me what channels are available in the market to reach African Americans.

2    Can you tell me about the last time that happened?
Last summer, I was placing the media buy for a company and they asked me about outlets to reach minorities. I can’t say that I’m asked that question frequently, but it has been an issue in some cases.

3    Why was it hard, was it the process or the results?
Both, I couldn’t find many channels so I had to report that to the client.

4    Have you done anything to solve that problem – if so what?
I have not been able to solve the problem. I just use the outlets that are available to me and I do take some criticism for that, as if there are outlets out there that I’m just not aware of – that’s hard for me to believe as I’ve been a buyer in this area for years.

5    What don’t you love about your solution?
It does not offer enough of a choice.

6   How often do you have this problem?
As I said it does not come up that often, but it has come up.
